Category Image

The Category Image tool is an AI-driven feature within the Image Optimization module. With this tool, you can easily generate attractive category images using AI — based on an existing image or completely from scratch. After your approval, the image is immediately replaced and added to your online store.

Please note: Image generation is only available from the Growth subscription onwards.

How does category image optimization work?​

Open the tool via your dashboard under SEO & Content > Image Optimization > Category Image (or use Ctrl/Cmd + K and search for "Category Image"). You will now see a complete overview of all categories and subcategories in your store.

In this overview, you can find the most important information at a glance:

Tip: Have you just created new categories in your online store? Then click 'Refresh categories' at the top to bring the list up to date.

Generating or optimizing an image in steps​

  1. Choose a category: Find the category in the list that you want to provide with a (new) image and click on 'Optimize image'.
  2. The pop-up: A new screen will now open. Here you will see the current image and a link to open the category directly in your admin. Does your category not have an image yet? Then you will receive a message that the AI will generate one "from scratch" based on the category information.
  3. Enter a prompt: You can tell the AI exactly what you want to see. Type your own prompt in the text box or use one of the handy 'Quick prompts' to start immediately:
  • White background
  • Change color to blue - Lifestyle background
  1. Generate and Approve: Click on 'Generate image'. The AI tool will immediately get to work for you. Review the result and approve the change to definitively place the new image on your category page. It is always possible to cancel and rewrite your prompt.

What can I do with the Category Image tool?​

This tool specializes in:

  • Generating unique images from scratch for categories that do not yet have visual content.
  • Giving existing category images a fresh look or molding them into a uniform style.
  • Easily adjusting the atmosphere of an image with text commands (e.g., switching between a clean white background or an atmospheric lifestyle background).
  • Optimizing images by removing the background
  • And much more!
