Specifications

The Specifications tool uses AI to automatically fill in the technical specifications of your products. Based on the existing product information, the AI recognizes the product type and fills in the corresponding attributes (such as color, material, or dimensions) for you.

How does generating specifications work?​

Open the tool via Products and click 'Specifications' next to the desired product.

A screen will now open showing the product's Existing specifications. Here you configure how the AI should handle this data:

  • Only fill empty values / Overwrite existing values: Choose whether the AI may only fill in missing specifications, or whether existing values may also be overwritten with new, AI-suggested values.
  • Allow creating new product types: Enable this option to give the AI permission to add a new product type with corresponding attributes to your shop, when none of your existing product types fit the product.
  • Custom rules (optional): Give the AI extra instructions, for example: "Always write dimensions in centimeters and never fill in a warranty period."

Next, click 'Generate specifications'. The AI tool will get to work and suggest the specifications. You will then get the chance to review and approve the suggested values before they are saved.

New attributes​

Sometimes, while generating, the AI recognizes an attribute concept that doesn't exist yet within your shop. In that case, alongside the suggested specifications, you will also see a proposal for this new attribute. You can choose whether to add this new attribute (and its value), regardless of whether you chose to allow creating new product types.

Filling in specifications in bulk​

Do you want to generate specifications for a large number of products at once? Use the bulk function for this.

Please note: Bulk functionality depends on your subscription type. You need at least a Growth plan.

Use the search function on the products page to select the desired products and start the bulk task. Just like with the other AI tools, a test is first run on 1 product, so you can check the settings before the full batch is processed.
