Review Moderator

The Review Moderator is a smart AI tool that helps you automatically review and manage product reviews. Instead of reading each review manually, you let the AI decide whether a review should be approved or rejected based on your own, preset rules.

Please note: The Review Moderator only works for Product Reviews within your online store and cannot moderate reviews on external platforms.

How does the Review Moderator work?​

You can find this feature in your dashboard under Tools > Automation > Review Moderator. Here you will see a centralized overview of all incoming customer reviews and you can configure the automated moderation process to your liking.

1. Retrieving and managing new reviews​

  • Synchronize new reviews: Use this button to immediately load the most recent reviews from your online store into the tool.
  • Automatic handling: Enable 'Automatic handling of new reviews' to let the AI work independently. The tool will scan incoming reviews and instantly approve or reject them.
  • Automatically approve everything: If you want all new reviews to be checked by AI, you can use this option.

2. Setting up moderation rules​

The core of this tool revolves around the Moderation Rules. In the dashboard, you can see right away how many rules are currently active.

  • Click on 'Edit rules' to manage the instructions for the AI.
  • You can give the AI specific frameworks here. For example, automatically rejecting reviews that contain swear words, links to competitors, no useful content, many spelling mistakes, various pieces of personal information, or look too much like spam.

Overview and Filters​

Inside the Review Moderator Tool is a table where all reviews are clearly displayed. This ensures you always stay in control of what happens in the background.

  • Search reviews: Use the search bar to quickly find specific customers, products, or words within a review.
  • Status filter: Easily filter the list by:
    • Approved: Reviews that have been judged as legitimate (by the AI or manually) and can be displayed.
    • Rejected: Reviews that violate your moderation rules and have been blocked.
  • Table layout: The columns show at a glance the Reviewer (customer), the Rating (number of stars or the score), the written Review itself, the current Status, and an Action button to manually have the review checked by AI.
