Video

With the Video section, you can easily add moving imagery to your webshop. Whether it is an atmospheric background video, a product demonstration, or a brand story: video grabs attention immediately. You can choose to upload a video directly to Shopify or use a link from platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo.

General Layout & Whitespace​

  • Color scheme: Choose the desired color scheme for the texts and the background of the section.
  • Section display (Type):
    • Full width (Edge-to-edge): The video fills the full width of the screen.
    • Container (Box): The video is placed within a neat frame.
  • Spacing: Manage the margins and padding for the top and bottom to give the video exactly the right amount of space on the page.

Video Settings​

You have two options for the source of your video:

  • Shopify Hosted (Uploaded): Upload your own video file (e.g., .mp4) directly to Shopify.
    • Autoplay: Have the video play automatically (sound is muted by default).
    • Loop: Ensure the video repeats continuously.
  • Embed (YouTube/Vimeo): Paste a link from an external video website.
  • Aspect ratio: Determine the shape of the video player (e.g., the classic 16:9, the wide 21:9, or a square 1:1).

Cover Image (Thumbnail)​

To prevent an empty black area from being visible before the video loads, you can set a Cover image:

  • Image: Upload a still frame from the video or a specially designed thumbnail.
  • Alt text: Add a description for search engines and accessibility.

Text & Alignment​

You can accompany the video with a title and a short description:

  • Title & Formatting: Add a heading and determine the SEO HTML tag, the visual size, and the font weight.
  • Content (Rich text): Use this field for an additional explanation below the title.
  • Alignment: Choose whether to display the texts to the left, centered, or to the right of (or below) the video.
